Admission to the two-year Optics Course, which qualifies students to practice as dispensing opticians, is reserved for holders of a secondary school diploma in any field.
No admission test is required. However, in order to ensure high-quality teaching, the maximum number of international students admitted to the Course is 25 for the Bologna campus and 25 for the Milan campus.
Enrolment in each school year starts from December of the year prior to the start of the Course.
Secondary school leavers may pre-enrol.
In order to pre-enrol or enrol for the two-year Course qualifying to practice as an Optician, students have to fill in the form below and pay a pre-enrolment fee of € 200.00.
The secretary's office will contact the applicants within two working days to inform them of the provisional acceptance of their applications and whether they have been accepted in the annually programmed number of admitted students or have been placed on the waiting list.
Tuition fees for the two-year Optician Course
The tuition fees for the two-year Optician Course at the Zaccagnini Institute include all tuition costs and a wide range of services, aids and supplementary teaching materials and commodities.
All the equipment and teaching tools - textbooks, handouts, streaming and platform video lessons, laboratory materials needed for classroom lessons, practical exercises and all learning activities - are included in the tuition fee and provided by the Zaccagnini Institute.
In addition, at the beginning of the school year, each student receives a bag, a lab coat, a notepad, a pen, an 8 GB USB card and an ID badge allowing access to study rooms, the School Information System and physical and virtual libraries.
All this plus any remedial courses, out-of-hours or supplementary assistance or in-presence and distance tutoring that may be required, as well as fees and costs for the qualifying exams are all included in the tuition fee.
Tuition and attendance fee for the 2023/2024 school year are indicated below:
- First year € 1,500.00 upon enrolment and € 4,400.00 to be paid either in instalments or as a lump sum;
- Second year € 1,600.00 upon enrolment and € 5,000.00 to be paid either in instalments or as a lump sum.
Scholarships covering up to 50% of the school fees are available upon application on the basis of objective parameters such as income, family composition, distance of residence from the campus and scholastic merit.
