Two-year Optics Course for dispensing optician qualification

The two-year Course in Optics qualifying for the profession of optician belongs to the healthcare
area and is available at the main campus in Bologna, at the Milan campus and is authorized by the
Emilia Romagna and Lombardy Regions according to the Decree of the Minister of Health of 28 October
1992.

The course reserved for international students is aimed at those who hold an Italian or foreign
secondary school diploma and wish to acquire a professional qualification in the healthcare area with a
very high employment rate: 97% of graduates work within six months in Italy and abroad.

The two-year optician's course is available:

• full-time;
• for student workers, with attendance and tuition open to people working in other provinces or regions.

Upon completion, students obtain the "Licensed Optician Qualification", which gives direct access to professional practice and job opportunities.

Official languages: Italian and English. Admission to the Course with a limited number of places.

Successful completion of the two-year course and success rate in the qualifying examinations*:

• 95% of those enrolled in the first year pass the optician qualification;
• 99.5% of admitted students pass the licensing exam.
