The Clinical Contact Lens Practice Course of the Zaccagnini Institute is unique as 50% of the hours are devoted to practical and clinical activities. It is held at the main headquarters in Bologna and Milan.
The Course is open to Opticians, Optometrists and Eye Care professionals who wish to update their knowledge and practical skills in contact lens fitting, one of the most dynamic professional areas in terms of:
• Scientific and clinical developments;
• Availability of new products;
• Development of instruments and technologies.
The Clinical Course in Contact Lens Practice is available in two options:
• Intensive mode: in six consecutive days,
• For student-workers: over three months, on a consecutive Sunday and Monday for each month.
Didactics is flexible and customized - classes can be attended in person or online and all the learning materials are available on the IBZ platform 24/7.

Since its inception, the discipline of Contact Lens Practice - i.e. the correction and compensation of vision defects with lenses applied to the surface of the eye: on the cornea (corneal lenses) and on the sclera (scleral lenses) - has been studied and developed mainly by Opticians and Optometrists.

The Course of Clinical Contact Lens Practice, with a limited number of 25 participants, will offer students the opportunity of practical mentoring by teachers and assistants.
Teaching is Customised and Integrated. Lectures will be delivered in the classroom, but will also be available online so that anyone in any location and in any condition can attend and follow the teaching activities.
Handouts, courseware materials and documentation will be available 24/7 on the IBZ platform to ensure easy round-the-clock access and immediate sharing.
