Vision and Posture Masters
Entry and Advanced Level

The Clinical Master in Vision and Posture – Advanced level, now in its third edition, is open to Opticians, Optometrists, Orthopaedists, Ophthalmologists, Physiotherapists, Dentists, Graduates in Motor Sciences, Osteopaths and professionals of the Eye Care who wish to expand their clinical skills with the integration of posturology.

From the motor point of view, every living being needs to be able to adapt to the environment in which they live to survive and carry out their own static and dynamic activity.
Posturology is a recent discipline that studies the relationships between body posture and certain conditions, including algae, that would result from an incorrect overall body balance.

Therefore, "posture" is a general concept of body balance, meant as "optimization" of the relationship between the subject and the surrounding environment, that is, that condition in which the subject assumes, with the body, attitudes and positions suitable for the situation, at that given moment and for the intended movement.

Such an important function is performed by a combination of communicating organs and structures called the Postural-Tonic System (PTS). Our body uses different resources that work in relationship but also in a "cybernetic" way through:

• Exteroceptors that position the human body in relation to the environment (touch, sight, hearing);
• Proprioceptors that position the different parts of the body in relation to the whole, in a predetermined position;
• the higher centres that integrate the strategy selectors, the cognitive processes and re-elaborate the data received from the two previous sources (exorectors and endocerectors).

Participation in the Basic Level Master allows participants to obtain a general knowledge of specific optometric clinics to evaluate:

• visual-environmental experience;
• space-body;
• understanding and clinical use of the receptor areas (vestibular, tmj, breech, proprioceptive and kinaesthetic);
• how visual skills affect the postural economy;
• the influence that the various ametropia correction systems have on the quality of posture, balance and the onset of algae

Participation in the Advanced Level Master, thanks to the inter and multidisciplinary approach, allows participants to acquire knowledge and skills to:

• perform examination protocols, tests and clinical evaluations for each postural area;;
• organise and conduct an interdisciplinary clinical posturology activity;
• perform a complete postural examination, not limited to the postural receptor of expertise.

Both Masters have the objective of facilitating the relationships between the various professionals who deal with posture.

Attendance to the Clinical Masters in Vision and Posture is designed to allow the participation of student workers.
The days of attendance are one combined Sunday and Monday per month.

The Entry level Edition is structured in V modules divided in 10 days for a total of 80 hours between theoretical lessons, simulations, demonstrations and practical and clinical exercises. The Master takes place in five months with a frequency of one Sunday and one Monday combined for each month.

The Advanced level Edition is structured in V modules divided in 6 days of which 4 of theory and 2 of practice for a total of 48 hours. The entire fifth module includes interdisciplinary clinical therapy exercises on real subjects at the "Spine Centre" medical rehabilitation clinic in Bologna.  The Master takes place in three months with a frequency of one Sunday and one Monday combined for each month.

Class Schedule
From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Masters will take place in:

Both locations are convenient to reach, served by urban transport, local and national trains and are connected to the main Airports.

Both  editions of the Clinical Masters in Vision and Posture are reserved for a limited number of 25 participants, giving students the opportunity to practice mentored by professors and assistants.

The teaching modality is customized as the lessons will be held in person but also via streaming, to allow anyone and in any location and condition to participate and follow the learning activities.

The handouts, materials and documentation will be made available on the platform 24-hour, in order to ensure a user friendly and immediate  sharing.
 

At the end of the course every participant will receive a  Certificate of Attendance, with the hours and the content of the program.

The Masters are held by renowned teachers and trainers, active in the field of optometry, medical specializations, the disciplines involved and visual-postural integration.

• Dr. Saverio Colonna, Specialist in Orthopaedics and Traumatology and Osteopath.

Adjunct Professor at the School of Specialization in Sports Medicine at the University of Siena, in 2002 he completed a multi-year course in "Manual Osteopathic Medicine" at the University of Paris Nord. Since 2012 he is the OSCE Director (Osteopathic Spine Centre Education) and since 2013 Health Director of the Spine Centre in Bologna.

• Prof. Pietro Gheller, Optician, Optometrist and Doctor of Psychological Techniques and Posturologist.

Professor of optometry and contact lens practice at the Zaccagnini Institute and at the University of Padua, Pietro obtained a Master's Degree in Clinical Posturology and attended specialization courses at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (USA) and at the Huston University (USA).

• Dr. Piergiorgio Tonello, Specialist in Orthodontics and Osteopath.

Lecturer in Osteopathy and Stomatognathic Posturology at the Zaccagnini Institute, Piergiorgio practices his profession with external consultancy at dental offices and rehabilitation clinics. In 2002 he completed a multi-year course in "Manual Osteopathic Medicine", open exclusively to doctors and dentists, at the University of Bobigny Paris Nord.

• Prof. Riccardo Bazzotti, PhD in Pathology and Neuropathology        
  Professor of Psychophysics, Anatomy, Biochemistry and Microbiology at the Zaccagnini Institute.
• Prof. Anto Rossetti, Qualified Optician, Optometry Doctor degree (American University-School of Optometry).

Visiting Professor and Executive Dean at Aston University, Birmingham, UK – BSc IBZaccagnini Project; adjunct professor of Physical Techniques for Optometry at the University of Padua.

• Dr. Andrea Cipolla, Physiotherapist and Osteopath.

Lecturer of Manual Rehabilitative Therapy at the European Centre for Applied Teaching and Manual Osteopathic Therapy at the Italian Institute of Manual Therapy.

• Dr. Laura Zanoni, Podiatrist and Osteopath.

Laura practices as a podiatrist referent freelancer at the Morgagni-Pieratoni Hospital and is the holder of "Footclinc -Clinica del Piede". She attended a master's degree in Clinical Posturology at the University of Pisa.

• Prof. Rinaldo Spinozzi, Qualified Optician and Optometrist

Professor in the Master's programme at the Zaccagnini Institute and member of the IBZaccagnini Vision Sciences Department, Bologna.

The enrolment fee for the master includes, in addition to course participation, all teaching material and the Certificate of Attendance with indications of the hours and content of the course.
Clinical Master in Vision and Posture - Entry level

• € 1.400,00 + VAT (€ 1.708,00) of which € 250,00 must be paid as a deposit when enrolling, € 366, by the start of the course and 2 instalments of €546,00 each by the 31^st of December 2023 and the 1^st of February 2024.
• Fee reserved for ADOO, AILAC, ALOeO, Federottica, SOptI members: € 1.200,00 + VAT (€1.464,00) of which € 250,00 must be paid as a deposit when enrolling € 366,00 by the start of the course and 2 instalments of € 424,00 each by the 31^st of December 2023 and the 1^st of February 2024.
• Fee reserved for former students of the Zaccagnini Institute: € 1.000,00 + VAT (€ 1.220,00) of which € 250,00 must be paid as a deposit when enrolling € 366,00 by the start of the course and 2 instalments of € 302,00 each by the 31^st of December 2023 and the 1^st of February 2024.

Clinical Master in Vision and Posture - Advanced level

• € 900,00 + VAT (€ 1.098,00) of which € 250,00 must be paid as a deposit when enrolling and € 848,00 by the start of the course .
• Fee reserved for ADOO, AILAC, ALOeO, Federottica, SOptI members: € 800,00 + VAT (€976,00) of which € 250,00 must be paid as a deposit when enrolling and € 726,00 by the start of the course.
• Fee reserved for former students of the Zaccagnini Institute; € 700,00 + VAT (€ 854,00) of which € 250,00 must be paid as a deposit when enrolling and € 604,00 by the start of the course.

Clinical Master in Vision and Posture – Entry ed Advanced level

• € 2.100,00 + VAT (€ 2.562,00) of which € 250,00 must be paid as a deposit when enrolling, € 366,00 by the start of the course and 4 instalments of €486,50 each by the 31^st of December 2023, the 1^st of February 2024, the 1^st of March 2024 and the 1^st of May 2024.
